Winners of the WA Multicultural Awards
The outstanding contributions of leaders in championing multiculturalism and empowering culturally and linguistically diverse communities were recognised at the annual Western Australian Multicultural Awards held on Friday 14 March 2025.

14 winners were announced across 10 categories, which recognised individual, local government, public sector, business, community association and community service organisation achievements.

The 2025 Western Australian Multicultural Award winners are:

Premier’s Public Sector Award: State Library of Western Australia
Local Government Award: Shire of Harvey
Community Service and Support Award — General Community Service Organisation: Ubuntu Australia
Community Service and Support Award — CaLD Community Service Organisation: Edmund Rice Centre WA
Community Service and Support Award — CaLD Community Association: Alnoor Community Language Inc
Artist of the Year Award: Mrs Sindhu Nair
Sportsperson of the Year Award: Mr Soa Palelei
Business Award (first winner): Engineers Australia
Business Award (second winner): GP West Pty Ltd
Youth Award: Miss Mayada Ali
Outstanding Individual Achievement Award: Mr Edmund Damouni
Sir Ronald Wilson Leadership Award: Mrs Christina Ward
Laksiri Jayasuriya Lifetime Community Service Award (first winner):  Mrs Katherine Ursich OAM
Laksiri Jayasuriya Lifetime Community Service Award (second winner): Ms Helen Cattalini OAM

The occasion also officially launched Harmony Week, which runs from 15 to 21 March 2025, and highlights Western Australia’s cultural and linguistic diversity.

Harmony Week events span metropolitan and regional locations across WA, including Albany, the Pilbara and the Kimberley. 

2025 activities included a Harmony Concert hosted by the Mandurah Filipino-Australian Multicultural Community Inc, a Poles and Friends Festival hosted by the Polish Club General W. Sikorski Western Australia Inc and a Tai Chi demonstration and interactive sessions hosted by the Cockburn Chinese Community Association.
