Under the current grant round, schools can apply for:

  • per capita grants to assist with the costs of operating the school. The per capita amount is up to $120 per student and based on the number of students enrolled in the school
  • new school grants, which provide one-off funding of up to $4000 to new schools to support the administrative costs of setting up a school.
"Community language schools are often run by talented and passionate volunteer teachers who are dedicated to providing an outstanding learning experience for their students," said Citizenship and Multicultural Interests Minister, Paul Papalia.

"Community language schools fulfil an important need in the teaching of languages other than English and complement learning through the mainstream system."

"Community Language School Grants, together with the range of development programs available, will ensure that these not-for-profit organisations are able to provide meaningful and best-practice language learning for students across the State."

Applications for Community Language School Grants close at 4:00pm on Monday 9 March 2020.
