Did you know that between 2011 and 2016, the number of Buddhists in Western Australia increased by more than 11 per cent?

Or that most Hindus don’t think of Hinduism as a religion but more as a way of life?

Or that Christians in WA worship in more than 40 languages?

And do you know what the difference is between ‘Islamic’ and ‘Muslim’?

The information and answers to the above—and much, much more—are now available on this website.

OMI’s Culture and Religion guides offer useful information for service providers, students and anyone interested in finding out more about the diverse cultures and religions that make up multicultural Western Australia.

There are seven information guides on Baha’i, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism.

Each one gives an outline of the history of each religion in WA as well as information on the origins of the religions and a summary of key beliefs.

Find the Culture and Religion information sheets here.
