Beginning with a spectacular dragon boat race and finishing with a lotus flower ceremony, the festival is a great way for everyone to experience Chinese culture.
During the festival, Burswood Park will be transformed into a thriving market
with activities, performances and food stalls. Children will have the opportunity to learn traditional skills including kite and lantern building.

International Dragon Boat Race
Returning to the Swan River on 30 November 2024 in collaboration with Dragon Boat WA, this race will showcase world-class dragon boat athletes, with top international teams from China, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia competing for glory. The rhythmic
beating of drums, the resonating clash of gongs and the crowd's enthusiastic cheers will create an unforgettable atmosphere, making this a spectacle not to be missed!

International Lion Dance High Pole Exhibition
Marking one of the final days of the Chung Wah Cultural Festival, sit back in amazement as you witness skilled performers leap between elevated 2-metre-high poles in this traditional form of dance. Also known as 'jong' or platform lion dance, the lion
dancers gracefully and swiftly move from pole to pole during the act, showcasing elegance and agility. Come join us for this spectacular display of daring lion dance moves on the 7 December at the Burswood Park Lion Dance Pavilion.
