Join us at the Hillview Community Dialogue Series for engaging discussions and conversations starting on March 20, 2024, at 5:30 PM!

Community challenges require community solutions, and these community solutions emerge when we are in conversation with one another. The challenge is often just having the time, place, and support for it to happen – until now.

Kosta Lucas from Counterbrace by DrawHistory will be facilitating a special edition of this quarterly community dialogue series on Wednesday, 20 March 2024, to hold the space for us to come together to explore the following topic:

"What can we learn from survivors of racial discrimination about resilience and keeping our communities together?"

This discussion will take place at a very important time in our year. It will be five years and five days since the Christchurch Terrorist Attacks that took 51 innocent lives, many of whom had deep connections to our communities here in Australia. It will also occur one day before the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

These milestones provide us with a timely and poignant moment to foreground the voices of those with first-hand experiences of hatred and violence - voices we don't often hear from - but whose voices are crucial to any way forward.

Accordingly, this event is designed with, and will be delivered with, members of our own community who share their first-hand experiences to bring people together.

Stay tuned for more formal details regarding the event logistics, but please rest assured that we will endeavour to take the greatest care possible to ensure the event is carried out in a sensitive and inspiring way.

Registration is necessary as places are limited. Drinks and refreshments will be provided. For more information contact Hillview Intercultural Community Centre at 08 9461 7186.
