The Patricia Giles Centre for Non-Violence are offering free, three-hour workshops for the Disability and Family and Domestic Violence sectors.

These workshops aim to increase confidence and ability to support women and children with disability who are experiencing family and domestic violence. 

 

Workshop learning outcomes: 

  • a greater understanding of the intersection of FDV and disability
  • an increased awareness of the unique ways people with disability may experience violence
  • an understanding of the barriers to disclosing experiences of violence
  • an increased awareness of how to modify service delivery to meet the needs of people with disability
  • information about effective referral pathways and resources.

Please note that there are two workshops; one for staff that work within the Disability Sector and the other is for staff that work for the FDV sector. The topics within each workshop are tailored towards the sector so please ensure you read the descriptor on the event to ensure it matches your role.
