Page introduction (keep short).

To launch the exciting new oral history collection Game Changers: Trailblazing Stories from WA Women in Soccer, the State Library of Western Australia invites you to an exhibition and podcast launch (held outside on the mini soccer pitch exhibition space), followed by a panel conversation in the State Library theatre.

This panel will feature past and present players and pundits to discuss the rise of the women’s game and the WA women who have shaped it. With the 2023 Women’s World Cup in our midst, the panel will discuss football philosophy, differing perspectives on the women's game and playing it forward.

6:00pm–7:00pm: Reception on the Pitch
7:00pm–8:30pm: Panel Conversation in Theatre

Please note this is a free public event, however Theatre seats are limited. RSVP to Panel Conversation essential.

Featuring:
Pioneering Matilda and WA soccer legend Sandra Brentnall
Perth Glory star Natasha Rigby
Journalist and women in sport advocate Kris Marano
Sports academic Professor Sophia Nimphius
Moderated by ABC Radio presenter Nadia Mitsopoulos.

The panel discussion will be followed by an audience Q&A.

The Game Changers oral history collection was produced and developed by the Centre for Stories for the State Library of Western Australia. Together, we are sharing stories that reflect our state’s rich heritage, diversity and history.
