Funding Forums for CaLD Communities 2011–2012
Culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) communities often experience challenges in accessing government funding, including identifying the appropriate funding source, understanding the application process and understanding financial accountability requirements.
To address these challenges, OMI established a Funding Network for CaLD Communities in 2010 to facilitate interagency collaboration in policy development and service delivery. As a result, OMI presented two metropolitan funding forums to inform CaLD communities of funding opportunities.
The first forum, held in partnership with Lotterywest, the Department of Culture and the Arts, the Department of Sport and Recreation and the Department for Communities, was on Tuesday 22 November 2011 and was attended by more than 140 community leaders.
The second metropolitan forum was presented in partnership with Healthway, the Department of Regional Development and Lands, the Department of the Attorney General and the Department of Immigration and Citizenship on Tuesday 21 February 2012 and was attended by more than 90 community leaders.
